About Me

I GIVE A VOICE TO NONPROFIT LEADERS & BUSINESS OWNERS WHO PROVIDE SERVICES TO OUR COMMUNITIES.

My name is Kimberly "Kim" Holmes and I am the Host of this podcast. I am also Founder and CEO of Black America Cares. Our mission is to provide short term assistance to individuals and families in temporary crisis. We also focus on financial counseling and employment development.

As people learned about our nonprofit, I started to get requests for services we don't provide. I still wanted to help so I promised I would look for other nonprofits that could help our callers. I quickly discovered there are thousands of organizations that offer all kinds of support that most of us are not aware of.

I also discovered there are no podcasts that share about organizations serving our communities, especially the one's led by Black people, so I decided to create one.

This podcast is a one-stop resource for learning and sharing about Black-Led organizations and Businesses helping our communities.

What's Up With All The Jazz?

I have always loved listening to jazz. Some of my favorites are John Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, and Nancy Wilson. I love Neo-Soul too. Artists like Moonchild, Jill Scott, Ledesi, Daniel Caesar, Eric Roberson and Calvin Richardson are great sounds to escape to while taking a warm bubblebath, as I sip on a glass of wine.

Many tell me they love it because it's soothing to the spirit, peaceful to the mind and it relaxes our soul. As you listen to the podcast while you're taking a long drive, cleaning the house or riding on the train, my hope is you experience a little bit of calm from the craziness of the world...even if it's only for a few minutes.
